Simchat Torah comes Tishrei, 23.

The Simchat Torah is translated as Pleasure of a Torah. It is last from autumn holidays. It is devoted to end of an annual cycle of reading Roll of a Torah in a synagogue. Within all year Jews read a Torah. It is divided on week the chapter by amount of weeks in one year. By a holiday Simchat Torah finish an annual cycle of reading of a Torah and start to read it anew. On a holiday we read the latest chapter of a Torah, and the person who reads it, refers to Hatan Torah - the groom of a Torah. Then read the first chapter of a Torah which refers Bereshit, and the person reading it, refers to Hatan Bereshit - groom Bereshit. As the groom loves the bride so Jews love a Torah. On this holiday of all men present in a synagogue, cause to reading a Torah.

 

 

Akaphot - dances with a Torah

This day gather in a synagogue, sing and dance, being pleased with that G-d has given a Torah to the Jewish people. In the Simchat Torah occurs celebratory procession which refers to akaphot . Get all rolls of a Torah which are in a synagogue, and with songs and dances seven times bypass around bima (eminences in the center of a synagogue). Men by turns carry the Roll of a Torah, everyone tries to express the love and respect for a Torah - to touch a roll, to kiss it.
